Content Studio
A single, structured content platform and centralized hub for regulatory and compliance content.
Role: Senior Product Manager
Collaborators: Engineering, UX, ML, Product Marketing, Compliance & Tax SMEs
Built to replace fragmented tooling and manual publishing, Content Studio delivers a canonical information model, human-in-the-loop ML, integrated content testing, and an API-first publishing pipeline — enabling safer, faster, and more auditable content at scale.
Led the product definition and delivery of Content Studio — a unified content platform that transformed siloed, manual compliance workflows into a governed, testable, and automatable content lifecycle.
The Problem
Siloed content tooling across products and domains (CMSs, spreadsheets, ad-hoc tools)
Slow, error-prone publishing with 1:1 integrations and manual QA cycles
Weak governance and auditability, inconsistent metadata and definitions
Scalability limits making onboarding new domains and jurisdictions expensive
Objective: Build "one content" — a single information model + platform + hub that makes compliance content structured, auditable, testable, and automatable at scale.
My Role
- •Led discovery: information model design, content audits and user interviews
- •Defined product vision, multi-year roadmap and success metrics
- •Scoped the MVP, wrote the PRD, and prioritized features with outcome-based frameworks
- •Coordinated cross-functional delivery across multiple engineering teams, UX, QA and ML
- •Owned pilot plans, migration strategy, and researcher adoption & governance
Year-by-Year Highlights
- •Articulated the unified content vision and three-year plan
- •Designed the canonical information model (atomic entities, rich metadata, audit trail)
- •Built initial scraping & extraction services and change detection groundwork
- •Delivered the MVP for two high-value domains: centralized editor, per-code publish/expire, citations, formula support
- •Crossborder and India GST was made live in December 2022
- •Extended support for complex rate structures and advanced content types
- •Hardened end-to-end flows: scrape → review/QMS → edit → hub → downstream engines
- •Adopted the platform as the CMS of record for selected VAT/returns reporting use cases
- •Hub functionality for consumers was made live in August 2023
- •Continued coexistence with legacy monthly publishing while the platform matured
- •Defined VAT sections as first-class entities and planned dual-entry migration patterns
- •Finalized information model and UX for property tax research flows
- •E-invoicing was added to Content Studio in September 2024
- •Gen-AI features started to be added in Studio from December 2024
- •Continued operational support to ensure uninterrupted publishing during migration
- •Introduced ML solutions: taxability change detection, property tax extraction, document translation
- •Onboarded many domains: e-invoicing mandates, VAT sections, country-specific tax services, tax research content
- •Brazil Content was added in September 2025
- •Launched Integrated Content Testing (ICT) and content regression service
- •Began migrating publishing logic to cloud microservices with richer telemetry
- •Continued Gen-AI feature development and enhancements
- •Expanded domain frontends and integrations
- •Built agentic content transformation and verification frameworks with human oversight
- •Platform hardening and improved validation
Product Approach & Core Features
Canonical Information Model
Atomic content entities with unified taxonomy and metadata
Structured Editor + Hub
User-friendly editor backed by structured objects and enterprise hub
Human-in-the-Loop ML
Conservative ML patterns (suggest + confirm) for extraction and tagging
Integrated Content Testing
Regression testing and scenario runs to validate against past transactions
Governance & Release Readiness
Immutable publish versions, audit trails and governance gates
Gen-AI Integration
AI features to automate workflows and tasks and bring efficiency in the process
Outcomes & Impact
- •Single source of truth: Consolidated previously fragmented content tooling into one platform of record
- •Higher operational velocity: Reduced manual handoffs and publishing cycle time
- •Better content quality: Integrated validation, ICT and ML-assisted extraction lowered error rates
- •Improved governance & auditability: Immutable releases, audit trails and release-readiness gates reduced compliance overhead
- •Scale & reuse: API-first design enabled mass onboarding and simplified integrations
Challenges & Trade-offs
Migration complexity
Dual-entry patterns and migration tooling were necessary to avoid production disruption
Scope vs. risk
Deliberately deferred full automation until robust testing and governance were in place
Platform transition cost
Moving from legacy low-code to cloud services required significant upfront investment
Automation caution
Regulatory content demands conservative ML rollouts and clear human oversight
Key Learnings
- •APIs + telemetry unlock scale — an API-first approach makes downstream integrations feasible
- •Invest in migration tooling — migration is frequently the largest barrier to scaling
- •Human-in-the-loop is essential for compliance content
- •Ship small, visible wins — early features that reduce daily toil build user trust
- •Design the IM first — structure enables automation, testing and reuse
